The Club

The club exists to provide a first-class lawn bowls experience for beginners and mature players alike.​
It is situated at Adventure Park on Discovery Drive, Whitby in the city of Porirua, New Zealand.

Affiliation

The club operates under the umbrella of Bowls Wellington who provide some degree of governance, expertise, resources, and annual competitive fixtures amongst clubs in the Wellington region.

Community
​
We see ourselves very much as part of the Whitby Community, staging both bowling and non-bowling events for residents to participate in. We regularly publish news about the club on local Facebook pages.
Welcome to Whitby Bowling Club - a progressive lawn bowls club in the heart of the community of Whitby Porirua.
We have approximately 100 men and women members including social members and also host other bowlers from the Wellington area as well as Casual bowlers. We have a single, natural green measuring 36.6m x 36.6m which is currently being upgraded for the new season. There is ample off-street parking.

If you are undecided about playing bowls you can come along to one of our ‘have-a-go’ events, a community bowling event, or become a Social member to get access to the green. There are bowls that you may borrow, members who will coach you informally, and you will find that we are a friendly club. We meet socially on Friday evenings at the club house.
